Bathroom Vanity Size Guide
General Sizing Tips and Considerations:
Vanity lights come in all shapes and sizes, and choosing the right fixture(s) will depend on how they are mounted.
Mounting Above a Mirror
- A vanity light above the mirror should be about 3/4 of the full width of the mirror. You don’t want your vanity light to run past the edges of the mirror, and too small will not provide enough light. If your mirror is extra wide, consider 2 or 3 vanity lights above the mirror.
Mounting on the Sides of a Mirror
- Just like your bathroom mirror, you want your lights at about eye level to evenly illuminate your face: 60” - 70” from the ground is preferred.
- Remember to consider the amount of space you have between the side of the mirror and the wall, and consider any other bathroom fixtures (towel bars, shelves, outlets etc.) and functions (hair drying, applying makeup, shaving, etc.) when placing your vanity lights beside a mirror.
